Debian-Install Beta 2 Testing (etch) installation in an Acer Aspire 3003LMI – updated

By jobezone

I've updated most of my previous instalation report of Debian testing on a Acer Aspire 3003LMI, installed with Debian-Install Beta 2 . You can read it at

There were a lot of improvements since I last installed Debian testing. The default Gnome 2.14 desktop (the default of the desktop environment task during instalation) is more ready-to-use than previously, with care taken to handle the needs of desktop and laptop users. It has an automatic update-manager, Gparted, OpenOffice, Firefox, Remote Desktop Client, and more. Debian "etch" is in development, and will be released later this year.

< end of press release :) >
Would have been helpfull if the laptop task during installation, installed cpufreqd. This worked, while powernowd doesn't work with the AMD Sempron (in my experience, and so I've gathered by searching around the web).
